Abstract: The article is devoted to the issue of understanding and interpretation of scientific texts from discoursive, pragmalinguistic and stylistic point of view based on the material of contemporary Russian scientific texts. In the part ʼIntroduction’ the meaning of the term „interpretation“ and „text interpetation“ and also the significance of understanding of the text content by addressee is presented. In the part ʼTheory’ there discussed the different approaches to understanding and interpreting the text as well as the functioning of the interpretation mechanism connected with presupposition. In the section ʼData’ the attention is focused on the types of the text and techniques understanding and main steps of the hermeneutical process. There also given the different approaches to the problem of perception and text interpretation. In the main section ʼReceived Results’ the focus is on presenting those means that actualize the image of its author when compiling a scientific text as well as those that are able to draw the reader’s attention to the meaning inherent in the text and direct perception in the direction given by the author (questions, inclusive pronouns, directives, explanatory inserts, references to well-known information, various language tools). The paper ends with a summary of the investigated problems.
