STUDY ON THE PROBLEMS OF CONDUCTING A MULTIDIMENSIONAL ANALYSIS OF VOCABULARY: EXAMPLES OF VOCABULARY EXPRESSING HYPER-HYPONYMIC RELATIONS

DOI: 10.24412/2470-1262-2022-1-6-17

Abstract:

A multidimensional analysis of the Russian vocabulary expressing hyper-hyponymic relations between two objects can lead to more insight into semantic factors affecting their functioning, primarily compatibility. These are a) division of animateness/ inanimateness, b) for inanimate nouns – division of abstractness/ concreteness, c) for concrete nouns–division of denoting organic/ inorganic, d) for nouns denoting organic – division of denoting animals/ plants, e) for nouns denoting animals/ plants-division of denoting wild/ cultivated. The exception is the use of this vocabulary as part of terms when denoting taxonomic ranks of scientific classifications, as well as parts of stable (“frozen”) general literary phrases.
