PUNCTUATION MARKS AT THE END OF THE HEADING AS A MARKER OF THE INTERPRETIVE CHARACTER OF ITS GRAMMATICAL ESSENCE

DOI: 10.24412/2470-1262-2022-1-28-34

Abstract:

The main function of the punctuation mark at the end of the heading to be a marker of the author’s modality predicts the property of the graphic marker of actualization of the interpretive nature of the grammatical essence of the heading unit (its transition in the process of implementation from one quality to another), as a manifestation of dynamic syncretism due to the dual nature of the heading itself (synsematicity and autosemanticity in relation to the text), as well as its multifunctionality (performing communicative, nominative and pragmatic functions).

Keywords: title, punctuation marks, communicative function, nominative function, pragmatic function, author’s modality, autosemanticity, synsematicity
