Abstract:
In the key prose texts of Andrei Platonov, just as it happens in a poetic text, the compositional structure is based on a detailed system of interacting philosophical concepts. Thus, Platonov came to his own understanding of nature as a philosophical-existential category which symbolizes the connection between space, time and the philosophy of human existence. Speaking of the violent destruction of nature, Platonov in an allegorical form also raises the question of the destruction of “human nature”. Platonov’s spatial category is characterized by cosmism of attitude and temporal volume. His spatial characteristics have a conceptual content that is boundless in scope. Platonov’s space is endless. Platonov time materializes, acquires physically tangible three-dimensional forms, specific spatial and material characteristics. All these eternal categories merge in Platonov’s narrative into Platonov’s polyphonic chronotope, reflecting the infinite multidimensionality of Platonov’s world and emotionally unfolding into immeasurable Platonov’s cosmism.
Keywords: Andrei Platonov’s concepts of “Space”, “Time” and “Nature”, philosophy of Russian cosmism, existentialism, temporality, spatiality, corporality, eventfulness, existentials, Platonov’s polyphonic chronotope, Platonov’s literary collision of Utopia and Dystopia.
